Port of Cannes
With its 100% LED lighting, Pantiero car park is a 100% winner!
Work to improve the lighting in Pantiero car park at the old port in Cannes got underway in late 2015, with the goal of replacing the 329 2x49W neons with LED lighting.
The energy transition was completed by the end of 2017.
What has changed?
56% reduction in the car park’s annual costs
One year on, the savings have been confirmed. A significant drop in the number of kWh has been observed, as a direct result of the new lighting as well as the new policy of switching off the lights in an area that does not have an impact on the overall quality of the lighting.
Thanks to this investment (which has already paid for itself, one year later), the port has reduced its annual car park costs by 56% (cost of energy, lamps and maintenance) compared with the previous lighting system.
Energy savings and reduced CO2 emissions
In concrete terms, this decrease represents savings of 253,000 kWh/year, the equivalent of the energy consumed by 1300 refrigerators in one year.
Finally, by switching to 100% LED lighting, the old port of Cannes has also managed to reduce its annual CO2 emissions by 20 tonnes, the equivalent of 20 return flights between Paris and New York.
Over the next few years, CCI Nice Côte d’Azur, which manages the ports in the Riviera Ports Network, will continue to install this new-generation equipment, ensuring everyone is a 100% winner in terms of energy savings.
