Lou Passagin is back in service

Since 2012, locals from Nice and the French Riviera, along with tourists, have been able to relive the “Passagin” experience. Building on its success and undeniable appeal - since it went into service, the electric boat has already carried over 300,000 passengers - the Alpes-Maritimes council has decided to offer this service again throughout the summer. The shuttle will link the Charles Felix harbour basin and the Quai d’Entrecasteaux. A free, historic and highly popular service.

Shuttle service every day for 4 months, from 10 am to 7 pm, until 29 September.

This famous, 7-metre-long traditional boat manufactured by E.E.M.C.A. is equipped with two submersible electric motors, produced locally in Nice. This is a ground-breaking technological innovation that ticks all the boxes when it comes to sustainable development.

100% sustainable development, the “Ratapignata”, as the Passagin is known, is also fitted with solar panels and can be recharged at the quayside. Unlike its diesel counterparts, it does not pollute and is completely silent. It has room for 4 passengers plus the driver.
